- Job Description:
These new positions will assist RAV to provide high quality and effective mental health support to people using the family law registries of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (FCFCOA). These roles are part of the Family Advocacy and Support Service Program funded by Victoria Legal Aid and provide trauma-informed and culturally appropriate responsive mental health interventions and referral for individuals. The program operates across all family law registries in Victoria and will require face to face based services at the Melbourne and Dandenong registries and a mix of face to face, phone and video service delivery for regional registries. These roles may require travel to regional areas of Victoria from time to time.
- Requirement:
A tertiary qualification in psychology, counselling, or social work or related field.
Demonstrated previous experience in mental health support work with individuals with complex mental health needs, suicidality and trauma.
Demonstrated experience working with clients across different modalities including phone, face to face and video.
Demonstrated ability to effectively intervene, prioritise and manage crisis situations.
Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
Understanding of and ability to recognise and screen for family violence
